Terms
The terms of using ChopTime.
Plans, recipes, orders and delivery. Written to be read, not to be scrolled past.
01About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and ChopTime for the use of our mobile app, this website, and the planning, recipe, shop and delivery services we offer through them. By using ChopTime you accept them.
We have tried to write them in plain language. Where something matters, we have said it directly rather than burying it.
02Who can use ChopTime
You need to be at least sixteen years old to use ChopTime, and at least eighteen to place an order for delivery, because orders involve payment.
You may use ChopTime for your own household. If you are using it on behalf of a business, write to us first so we can make sure it actually fits what you need.
03Guest sessions and accounts
You can take the taste quiz and get a meal plan without an account. That plan lives in a guest session on your device, and if you clear the app or change phones, it goes with it.
If you create an account you are responsible for keeping your sign in details to yourself, and for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think somebody else has got into it.
You can close your account whenever you like, from the app or by writing to us.
04Meal plans and recipes
Plans and recipes are suggestions, made from what you told us about your household. They are not nutritional advice and they are not medical advice. If you have a medical condition or a serious allergy, talk to a professional rather than relying on a plan.
We work hard on the accuracy of our recipes, including ingredients, quantities and timings. Even so, kitchens differ, ingredients differ, and fires differ. Use your judgement as you cook.
05Cooking safely
You are in charge of your own kitchen. Cook food through, keep raw and cooked food apart, store perishables properly and follow the safety practices you already know.
Where a recipe involves something that carries real risk, such as hot oil or a charcoal fire, treat the recipe as a guide and not as a substitute for care.
06Shopping and orders
When you place an order you are offering to buy the items in your basket. The order is accepted when we confirm it, not when you submit it.
Fresh food comes from markets and suppliers, so exact size, weight and appearance vary. Where an item is unavailable we may substitute something equivalent, and we will tell you when we do. If you would rather we never substituted, say so in your order note.
We may decline or cancel an order if we cannot fulfil it, if the delivery address is outside our area, or if we have reason to believe the order is fraudulent.
07Payment
Payment is taken at checkout through our payment provider, and you can pay by Mobile Money or by card. Your order is not confirmed until payment has been authorised.
You are responsible for the details you enter. If a payment fails or is reversed by your provider, the order does not stand.
08Changes, cancellations and refunds
You can change or cancel an order any time before it has been packed. Once it is on its way we cannot pull it back, though we can still put things right afterwards.
If something arrives missing, damaged or not as described, tell us within twenty four hours and we will refund it or replace it. Refunds go back to the method you paid with, and how long that takes depends on your bank or Mobile Money provider rather than on us.
09Delivery
We deliver in Accra. Delivery windows are estimates and not guarantees, because traffic and weather are what they are.
Somebody needs to be able to receive the order at the address you gave us. If nobody can be reached, the rider will try to contact you on the number on the order, and perishable items may not survive a second attempt.
10Acceptable use
Use ChopTime for what it is for. Do not attempt to break into it, scrape it, overload it, resell access to it, or use it to do anything unlawful.
Do not copy our recipe library wholesale or republish it as your own. Cooking from our recipes and sharing a photo of your supper is exactly what we want; lifting the library is not.
11Our content and yours
The ChopTime name, the logo, the motif, the app, this site and the recipe content belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You get a personal, non transferable right to use them through the product, and nothing more.
Anything you post, such as a recipe review or a photo, stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to show it inside ChopTime and to use it to promote ChopTime. You can ask us to take it down and we will.
12Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep ChopTime running, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and things occasionally break.
Features change. We may add, alter or retire parts of the product as it develops. If we retire something you rely on we will give you reasonable notice.
13Limits on our responsibility
We are responsible for loss we cause you through our own failure to use reasonable care, and for anything that cannot be excluded under Ghanaian law.
We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss of profit or business, or for loss arising from your own use of the kitchen. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the laws of Ghana.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still stand.
15How to contact us
Write to hello@choptime.app, call +233 55 557 6869, or message us on WhatsApp at the same number. For anything about an order, include the order and what happened.
Placeholder notice for the buildThese terms are written as complete, plausible copy for design purposes. Have them reviewed by a qualified lawyer in Ghana before the site goes live.
